And that's when it hit us: Marie wasn't just the wife of my son Ray; she was also his cousin. That's right, folks, a Barone and a DiMeo marrying each other? It was like the ultimate unconventional kinship.
Uncle George and the Kids
Another example that comes to mind is Uncle George and those three kids he had with his ex-wife. I mean, this guy's marriage lasted all of two weeks, but what did we get out of it? Three beautiful children who brought a whole new level of chaos into our lives.
Now, you might be thinking: "Frank, that was pretty unconventional." And you're right, it was. But let me tell you, those kids quickly became like family to us Barones. I mean, who needs blood relatives when you've got people who'll eat all your leftovers and help you move into a new house?
Ray's Friendship with Robert
And then there's Ray's friendship with Robert, his best friend since childhood. Now, this one might seem like just another typical buddy-cop relationship, but nope. Robert is actually Marie's brother-in-law by marriage.
That's right, folks, a Barone and a DiMeo marrying into the same family? Unconventional kinship at its finest. And you know what? It worked out pretty well for us in the end. I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out with these two lovable goofballs all day?
