Well, well, well. Look who's interested in the Barone family's whereabouts. I'm Frank Barone, Ray's old man, and I'm here to spill the beans on what the bunch has been up to since "Everybody Loves Raymond" went off the air.
Ray, the whiny, mama's boy, has been keeping busy. After the show, he returned to his stand-up comedy roots and even starred in a few movies. He also lent his voice to the animated series "Parenthood" and "Made Men." These days, he's trying his hand at more dramatic roles, like in "Vinyl" and "Get Shorty." I guess he's finally grown a pair, huh?
Debra, or as I like to call her, the nagging wife, has had quite the career as well. She starred in the sitcom "The Middle" for nine seasons and even won a few awards for her performance. Not too shabby for a woman who couldn't cook to save her life. She's also become an advocate for various causes, including adoption and women's rights. Good for her, I guess.
Robert, the tall, bald, and lovable loser, has been doing pretty well for himself. He's had roles in numerous TV shows and movies, and even voiced characters in "Finding Nemo" and "Tangled." He's also returned to stand-up comedy and performs regularly in Las Vegas. I can't say I'm surprised—he always had a knack for making people laugh.
Marie, the overbearing, smothering mother, left us in 2016. But she sure left her mark on the world of television. She won four Emmys for her role as Marie and continued acting until her passing. She was a force to be reckoned with, and I can't help but miss her meddling ways. Rest in peace, Marie.
And there you have it—the Barone family's journey beyond "Everybody Loves Raymond." It's been a wild ride, and I can't say I'm not glad to have some peace and quiet again. But every now and then, I can't help but miss the chaos. After all, they're my family, and I love 'em—even if I'd never admit it out loud.
So, if you ever find yourself missing the show, just remember: Ray, Debra, Robert, and even Marie are still out there, making us laugh and cry. And who knows? Maybe one day, we'll get a reunion special. But until then, I'll be enjoying the silence—and a nice plate of pasta, of course.
