Welcome to the highlights of the 7th International BCI Meeting where we celebrated the most innovative Brain-Computer Interface projects from around the globe. The event took place on May 23rd, 2018 and was sponsored by leading technology companies.
Winners
- First Place: "Restoring Functional Reach-to-Grasp in a Person with Chronic Tetraplegia using Implanted Functional Electrical Stimulation and Intracortical Brain-Computer Interfaces" - A joint effort by researchers from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland; Brown University, Providence; and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
- Second Place: "BCI-Based Language Training for Chronic Aphasia Patients" - Developed by scientists from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in Germany.
- Third Place: "Direct Synthesis of Speech from Intracortical Brain Activity Associated with Speech Production" - A project carried out by researchers from Brown University, Providence.
